警方拘捕杀害中国留学生案件嫌疑人



两位留学生在住所遇害
调查英国纽卡斯尔中国留学生被杀案件的英国警方逮捕了17名犯罪嫌疑人，其中三名男子涉嫌谋杀，另外14人涉嫌盗窃或非法移民等项罪行。

中国留学生杨振兴和周茜是今年8月在英格兰北部城市纽卡斯尔的住所内遇害的。

本台在当地的记者说，警察在当地时间星期四（10月23日）凌晨采取了逮捕行动，被捕者都是中国公民。

英国警方此前曾经表示，两名遇害中国学生可能早就成为一个专门对外国学生下手的盗贼团伙的目标。

负责调查这一案件的警官维德说，犯罪团伙有可能早就盯上了周茜和杨振兴，误以为他们二人是来自有钱的富裕家庭。

A man has been charged with the murders of a Chinese couple in Newcastle.

The mutilated bodies of Zhen Xing Yang and his girlfriend Xi Zhou, both 25, were discovered in their flat in Croydon Road on 9 August.

Friends of the couple found the bodies in separate bedrooms at the ground floor flat.

Guang Hui Cao, 30, of Castle Close, Morpeth, is due to appear before Newcastle magistrates on Monday to face the murder charges.

Two other men arrested in connection with the killings have been bailed pending further inquiries.

A spokesman for Northumbria Police said the victims' families, who live in China, had been informed of the latest developments in the case.
